Jammu Municipal Corporation has seized 90 mobile towers in residential area of Jammu city. The step has been taken because Telecom companies are violating installation guidelines.

Because of this there is poor cellular connectivity in Jammu region. Locals have complained regarding the call drop and poor network connectivity but owing to complaints from people, Jammu Municipal Corporation started sealing towers and as of now, 65 towers having an antenna of individual companies and 30 BTS having shared infrastructure of different telecom operators have been seized.

Seized towers belong to Airtel, Reliance and BSNL.

The companies have to strictly follow the guidelines while applying afresh for installation or relocation of towers but the response from the cellular service providers is not up to the mark thus leading to issues incellular connectivity.
